Prototype first, design later

This lamp uses sustainable plant electricity as its powersource; the bacteria around the plants’ roots generate enough electricity to power a single LED light.

The design revolved around amplifying the light of the LED, while encasing the electronics as tightly as possible. Only after finding the right solution was the design developed.

Early prototypes of a lamp, made of paper, 3D printed PLA, foil and other materials.
The goal was to make the innovation visible by developing a simple lamp for indication or mood lighting to be used in offices, schools and other indoor environments.
